What We Do

Health

SuryaKala is a non-profit, non-government organization working in the area of health and sanitation, located at PipraBishanpur of Sitamarhi district in Bihar, India. At present, our field area is Sitamarhi District, which is one of the most impoverished areas in the country with the majority of the population in dire need of health services. We plan to extend our field areas to other similarly underprivileged areas of the state. We are working with a vision to improve health outcomes and enhance the quality of life for the communities we serve. Our health initiatives are designed to provide comprehensive healthcare solutions through prevention, treatment, and education.

Education

SuryaKala is committed to transforming lives through education. We believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering individuals to build better futures. Located in PipraBishanpur of Sitamarhi district in Bihar, India, we focus on providing quality education to the underprivileged populations of Sitamarhi and plan to extend our efforts to other impoverished areas of the state.

Why Education in Sitamarhi

Sitamarhi district faces significant educational challenges, including high illiteracy rates, limited access to quality educational resources, and inadequate infrastructure. Many children in this region lack the opportunity to receive a proper education due to financial constraints and social barriers. SuryaKala aims to bridge this gap by providing accessible and quality education to all, fostering an environment where every child has the opportunity to learn and succeed.

Personal Hygiene and Sanitation

SuryaKala is dedicated to improving personal hygiene and sanitation in Sitamarhi and beyond. Good hygiene and proper sanitation are fundamental to health and well-being. In many underprivileged areas, inadequate access to sanitation facilities and lack of awareness about hygiene practices lead to various health issues. Our initiatives aim to address these challenges and promote a healthier environment for all.

Why Personal Hygiene and Sanitation in Sitamarhi

Sitamarhi district faces significant challenges in terms of sanitation and hygiene. Many communities lack access to clean water, sanitary facilities, and hygiene education. This leads to the spread of diseases and negatively impacts overall health. SuryaKala is committed to addressing these issues by promoting personal hygiene practices, improving sanitation infrastructure, and educating the community about the importance of cleanliness.

Water

Water is essential for life, and preserving traditional water sources is crucial for sustainable living. SuryaKala is dedicated to the revival and maintenance of these water bodies, ensuring that they continue to serve the communities for generations to come.

Why Water Conservation in Sitamarhi

Historically, rural India has had a deep emotional and cultural connection with water bodies like ponds, lakes, and wells. In Sitamarhi, many traditional water sources have been neglected, turning into dumping grounds and losing their functionality. This neglect has led to water scarcity and a lack of clean water for drinking, irrigation, and daily needs. SuryaKala aims to address this issue by reviving and maintaining these vital water sources.

Human Trafficking & Child Marriage

Human trafficking and child marriage are grave human rights violations that have devastating impacts on individuals and communities. SuryaKala is committed to combating these issues by raising awareness, providing support to victims, and advocating for stronger protective measures.

Why Address Human Trafficking & Child Marriage in Sitamarhi

Sitamarhi district, like many other parts of rural India, faces significant challenges related to human trafficking and child marriage. Poverty, lack of education, and socio-cultural norms contribute to the prevalence of these issues. Young girls are particularly vulnerable, often being forced into marriage or trafficked for labor and exploitation. SuryaKala aims to tackle these problems by creating a safer environment and empowering the community to protect its most vulnerable members.

Gender Equality

Gender equality is fundamental to achieving a just and equitable society. SuryaKala is committed to promoting gender equality by empowering women and girls, addressing gender-based discrimination, and advocating for equal opportunities in all aspects of life.

Why Promote Gender Equality in Sitamarhi

In many parts of rural India, including Sitamarhi, gender inequality is deeply rooted in cultural norms and practices. Women and girls often face discrimination, limited access to education and healthcare, and lack of economic opportunities. SuryaKala aims to challenge these barriers and create an environment where everyone, regardless of gender, has the chance to thrive.

Environment

The environment is the foundation of all life on Earth, and its preservation is essential for the well-being of future generations. SuryaKala is dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability through conservation efforts, community engagement, and education.

Why Environmental Conservation in Sitamarhi

Sitamarhi, like many rural areas in India, faces environmental challenges such as deforestation, pollution, and loss of biodiversity. These issues not only threaten the natural landscape but also the health and livelihoods of the local communities. SuryaKala aims to address these challenges by fostering a culture of environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.

Chairman's Massage

For over six & a half decades, my beloved late father and mother had done charitable work anonymously and without expecting any return. They were among the most generous, caring, and spiritual person known, not only to me but to many others whose lives they influenced. The foundations of this charity lie within the deep sense of responsibility that I feel on their behalf and the wish for the continuation of the good works that had begun with them. Somewhere I met with the epitaph of a charitable man who has inspired me further, I cannot recollect the words, but here is the sense of it:
